ARLINGTON STANDS UP AGAINST HATE
This rally was held on Sunday, September 16, 2001,
at 6:30 PM,
on the steps of Arlington Town Hall in Arlington,
Massachusetts
Open Eyes Video is proud to offer a one hour video recording of this event.
WHAT'S THIS RALLY ABOUT? A leaflet was dropped in Arlington in the middle of the night on September 1, 2001. It read, in part, "Some races have characteristics that are desirable to the formation of superior species. Other races possess less desirable qualities; they are evolutionary dead ends."
Arlington residents were appalled at this. They acted almost immediately to organize this rally. During the planning stages, terrorists inflicted their terrible damage in New York and Washington, further motivating citizens to come out and demonstrate against hate.
