Since my last entry here, over a year ago, I've relocated from Arlington to Maynard, Massachusetts. The move took all my energy and attention from around June 2019, through January 2020. Even now (April 2020), there is still work to do to completely wrap up the move.
As I lived and worked as Arlington for over 40 years, this was a profound transition in my life!
Now, after publishing two books and creating two workshops, I'm renewing my focus on video production. But more than just any production, I'm focusing on the original mission of Open Eyes Video - a mission I came up with in 1980 when I started (back in the days of videotape recording and production - thank goodness tape is finally over with!).
That mission is for me to use video to produce program content to "go into the future with our eyes open" based on what I saw as the advent of a rapidly changing world. Indeed, it's now become evident that we are all undergoing rapid and significant change, world wide. Everything is affected - our own attitudes, our relationships with each other (including institutions of government, economics, etc.), and our relationship to all of nature.
As far as I'm concerned, the current pandemic is just the first of many events that will have a profound impact on us all; there will be much more to come. This is all part of a world struggling to get to a new place. And I'm convinced that we're going to get to that place over time. But it's going to take fortitude, centering, and a committment to see these things through. I want to use Open Eyes Video to help with that.
I plan to produce a series of videos that lay out my philosophy regarding the underlying theme of this transformation. Stay tuned!
